WHO WE ARE
Nuner Fine Arts Academy is a public K-5 Fine Arts school whose mission is to serve diverse students and families through the arts. Our students receive culturally responsive opportunities using a variety of learning modalities to develop artistic literacy, emotional well-being, curiosity, and creative mindsets.
WHAT WE OFFER
At Nuner, we are committed to excellence in an inclusive environment that encourages a culture of respect, integrity, and diversity. We believe in the power of the Arts to improve listening, benefit language development, and cultivate motor skills to assist the mind with discovering and obtaining knowledge. Arts education leads to stronger reading proficiency, increased math abilities, and higher general intelligence scores. Our staff utilizes technology and best practices to meet the needs of our students' learning backgrounds.
Every grade level class meets for 45 minutes during the school day with an Arts Specialist. We offer Visual Art, Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music/Theatre, and Physical Education. Students are encouraged to express themselves through various art mediums and enhance their understanding of Indiana academic and Fine Arts standards. Additionally, our teachers co-plan and co-teach arts integrated lessons using the district's ELA curriculum.
Nuner students are invited to be involved in a minimum of three major musical productions each school year, in addition to having their artwork displayed at two Art Shows. Select student groups are also featured throughout the year at community performances and local events.
Our modern building and impressive equipment and facilities feature a kiln, a professional marley dance floor, an "instrument lab", and our very own auditorium with a light/sound system!
