Our Mission: At Nuner Fine Arts Academy we are committed to excellence in an inclusive environment that encourages a culture of respect, integrity, creativity, and diversity.
Our Vision: As a community, we will provide the academic foundation necessary for students to reach their full potential.
Nuner Fine Arts Academy was named for John F. Nuner, South Bend school superintendent from 1916-19. Nuner School was first occupied in February 1923. It replaced the old River Park School, a two-room school which served only 40 pupils when it opened in 1893. A new Nuner was opened in 1999 a block south of the former building. The building appears to be one story but is actually two stories with a large portion of the complex built into the hillside.
Today, Nuner is the elementary fine arts school and serves students in grades K-5.
