Student Uniforms for the

2017-2018 School Year

Nuner Primary Center is excited to be implementing our Uniform Policy for this school year.  As a quick recap, students are to wear navy blue or khaki pants, shorts, capris, skirts/skorts, or dresses.  Shirts are to be a collared polo in navy blue, light blue or white.  Students are allowed to wear sweaters or sweatshirts in the same color choices (navy blue, light blue or white), but they cannot have a hood.  Additional clothing, such as tights or long-sleeved shirts worn under a short-sleeved polo must also need to be navy blue, light blue or white.  Students must wear closed-toed shoes (sneakers are the best choice for P.E. class and recess).

You can click on the Uniform Policy link above to read the full policy as well as the Enforcement Policy and suggestions on where to purchase uniforms.

About Us

Our Mission:
At Nuner Primary Center we are committed to excellence in an inclusive environment that encourages a culture of respect, integrity, creativity, and diversity.

Our Vision:
As a community, we will provide the academic foundation necessary for students to reach their full potential.

Nuner Primary Center was named for John F. Nuner, South Bend school superintendent from 1916-19. Nuner School was first occupied in February 1923. It replaced the old River Park School, a two-room school which served only 40 pupils when it opened in 1893. A new Nuner was opened in 1999 a block south of the former building. The building appears to be one story but is actually two stories with a large portion of the complex built into the hillside.

Today, Nuner serves over 350 students in kindergarten through fourth grade.

Our Annual Title I Math Night was a huge success!  Math games were played and taught to students and parents by Nuner Primary Staff.  Each student went home with three math games to help with key math skills. It was great to see students, teachers and staff after school having fun while learning.
